Matching indicates a potentially relevant channel, not that a particular investor or transaction is authorised.

Regulatory route comparison

Choose any two corridors below. Compare access mechanics and regulatory constraints without reducing them to an invented numeric score.

Routes are structurally different. A “less restricted” label does not establish legal eligibility, suitability or investment permission.

Opening is not a straight line.

DATED / SOURCE-LINKED EVENTS

A curated chronology of channel launches and expansions, not a complete regulatory change feed. The date on each item describes the event, not the date the source was last checked.

02 / THE INTERPRETATION

Access is not convertibility.

China's financial opening is modular. Market access, portfolio investment, derivatives hedging, cross-border settlement and outward investment operate under different legal and operational gates. The relevant question is not whether China is open, but which participant can move which type of capital through which channel.

This instrument uses a manually curated regulatory snapshot. It does not measure transaction volumes, verify account-level eligibility, or monitor rules in real time. Always verify programme rules with the linked primary authorities before acting.
